Play Park & Dog Park

Information on the Dog Park.

The land to the right of Scotton Village Hall holds a small plot of land that the Parish Council adapted into allotments at the top of the field and separate area for dog walking at the bottom. It is an enclosed area safe for dogs and is maintained and funded by the parishioners of Scotton through the precept added to the Council Tax annually.

We have had a few problems to overcome, mainly dog faeces not being cleared and people not being as considerate to other dog owners as they could be. It also initially caused distress to residents due to excess dog barking. This meant we had to introduce specific rules to allow all users to understand how the park should be used and the law on dogs in open spaces. There are signs displaying these rules in the park which is open from 8am to 9pm.

The area is small and not able to accommodate people driving to it so it is encouraged that it is for use of Scotton parishioners only and permits can be applied for at clerk@scotton-pc.gov.uk.
